Exploring New Startup Concept Idea with two unique products, shaping product strategy, vision, and gathering user stories and requirements. Designed core UX and a cohesive design language for the Food and Earth mobile apps, focusing on key flows such as sign-in, onboarding, navigation and the main hub experience.

Exploring a startup idea with two distinct products, UME Food and UME Money, presents an exciting opportunity to address sustainability and carbon footprint awareness in both food consumption and financial transactions.

Roles and Responsibilities

Desk Research – Personas

In order to understand user needs with regards to their impact on climate change, personas were created to assist that the goals laid out of the Mobile Apps adhered to users requirements and habits.

Design system – created using Material Design as a basis

As part of the Branding process a design system was created and iterated upon. This used Material Design as a basis to quickly get this off the ground and use an established pattern and system to support development efforts and providing a consistent experience across Mobile devices.

Design examples

Blue sky mockups were created to showcase how the online web experience would work with navigation and overall design scheme. With the aim to rapid develop a solution for rollout and seeking funding.

My Project Deliverables Output

Working closely with a Backend Engineer and Product Manager to produce a conceptual solution.

  • Phase 1
    • Created a new design library for the UME Money and Food apps based on Material Design including Typography, Colours, Branding, Logo and Components and Navigation structure.
    • Created Money App areas – Onboarding, Dashboard, Carbon consumption, Transaction history with carbon calculations, Buying Carbon Credits
    • Created Food App areas – Onboarding, Dashboard, Shops, Create a recipe, Publish a Recipe, View a Recipe, Edit a Recipe
  • Phase 2
    • Created a Website which included key areas to showcase both Apps such as the Homepage, Navigation, Money, Food, Who We Are, Contact Us.
